STREET
PROTECTION
Real-world bite work, scenario decoys, off-leash control.
No sport. No IGP. No Schutzhund titling. We build dogs that respond to actual threats — not arena points.
How long does it take to train a real protection dog?
A real street protection dog takes 6 months minimum. Anyone selling a finished protection dog in 4 weeks is selling deterrent obedience, not real protection. Bite drive, environmental stability, and handler authority cannot be compressed. The Dogfather offers a 6-month board+train ($19,500 CAD) and a 10-month in-home track ($10,000 CAD) — both street-focused, both certified at the end.
Two Tracks · Same End-State
Choose Your Path
Board+train is the fastest, sharpest, most reliable route. In-home is for owners who can't board for 6 months but commit to weekly sessions for 10 months.
Board + Train
Dog lives at Paddock Estate (Pickering). Yathy + mentor decoy run scenario work on-site. You pick up a finished street protection dog after 6 months.
Private / Owner-Handled
Owner drives to Paddock Estate (Pickering) weekly for private session + decoy days on-site. Dog goes home between sessions. Owner reinforces daily. Lower price, requires committed owner who can make the weekly trip.
Full payment upfront via e-Transfer secures program · All sales final · No refunds · Mandatory $50 in-person evaluation before contract
The 6-Phase Build
How Real Protection Is Built
Drive Development
Building controlled, reliable street protection drive — food, toy, prey.
Bite Work
Sleeve → hidden sleeve → full suit. Real bite + clean release on command.
Public Obedience
Off-leash control under distraction, store fronts, vehicles, strangers.
Scenario Decoys
Home intrusion, vehicle defense, off-leash pursuit. Run by Yathy + mentor decoy on-site.
Handler Transfer
Owner trained in last 2 weeks. Dog responds only to authorized handlers.
Lifetime Maintenance
12-month group class included. Annual recert. Lifetime support.
Breed Compliance Required
Ontario's Dog Owners' Liability Act (2005) restricts American Pit Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, and substantially-similar mixed breeds. American Bullies are a distinct UKC-recognized breed and NOT covered. Grandfathered pre-Aug 2005 dogs are legal with muzzle/leash compliance.
We verify breed via registration / pedigree / breeder documentation BEFORE training. Owners are responsible for lawful control post-pickup including any muzzle/leash requirements that apply to their dog.
Start With an Evaluation
Protection training requires the right dog and the right handler. A $50 in-person evaluation confirms fit before contracts. Credit applies to your program.
