Same-Day Board & Train
DAY TRAIN
Drop off and pick up the same day. In between, a full structured training day — not a play day with training attached, but a working day built around the exact behaviour you want changed. Standard $150/day + HST. Reactive $200/day + HST. $50 Behavioural Evaluation required first, credited to your first 4-week block.
Included in every training day
- —Structured obedience and reactivity protocol work
- —Controlled exposure sessions matched to your dog's threshold
- —Decompression and rest periods built into the day
- —Daily written report card covering the day's work
- —Transfer coaching with you at pick-up
- —Weekly progress summary across the training week
Owner homework is assigned between training days — the handler work you do at home is what turns a good training day into a permanent change.

Day Train FAQ
What is Day Train and how is it different from Board & Train?
Day Train is same-day Board & Train — you drop your dog off in the morning and pick them up the same day after a full structured training day with the trainer. Board & Train is the overnight residential version, where your dog lives with the trainer for a full program. Day Train fits owners who want daily training reps without boarding.
How much does Day Train cost in Toronto?
Day Train is $150/day + HST for the Standard tier (non-reactive dogs) and $200/day + HST for the Reactive tier (leash, dog, or people reactivity, or a bite history). Tier is assigned at the $50 Behavioural Evaluation and confirmed at intake.
How is Day Train billed?
Day Train is prepaid in 4-week blocks. Choose 3, 4, or 5 fixed days per week — that works out to 12, 16, or 20 training days per block. The block is paid in full by Interac e-transfer to support@dogfather.ca before the first training day.
Do I need the $50 evaluation before starting Day Train?
Yes. The $50 Behavioural Evaluation is required before enrolment and is where your dog's tier (Standard or Reactive) and training plan are set. It's credited in full toward your first 4-week block.
What happens during a Day Train day?
A full structured training day — obedience and reactivity protocol work, controlled exposure sessions matched to your dog's threshold, and decompression and rest periods built into the day. Every day ends with a written report card and 5–10 minutes of transfer coaching with you at pick-up.
Can I choose which days my dog attends?
Yes — you choose 3, 4, or 5 fixed days per week at enrolment. The days are fixed for the length of the 4-week block so your dog works on a predictable, held rhythm.
