Trainer-supervised dog boarding at a 20-acre estate property — for Burlington owners who want their dog handled by a working trainer, not stacked in a generic facility. Drive options below. Working trainer on-site 24/7. From $90/day.
Why Burlington dog owners choose The Dogfather
Burlington clients are high-affluent — Roseland, Tyandaga, and Millcroft homes with a Lab, Golden, Doodle, or working-line breed. The drive to Pickering is 90 minutes each way, which is why most Burlington clients book the long-distance pickup option — the trainer collects the dog from your home and returns it at the end of the stay. The booking question is qualitative: is the dog actually supervised by a real trainer the entire stay. At The Dogfather a working trainer is on the property 24/7.
The facility is a 20-acre estate property in Pickering — space and structure you can't get inside a strip-mall kennel. Structured outdoor time on the property, premium indoor crates for rest periods and overnight, climate-controlled decompression space for hot or cold extremes. Burlington owners with Labs, Goldens, Doodles, working-line breeds, and family dogs consistently say their dog comes home calmer than when they left.
You get a daily photo and a 30-second video proactively sent — not on request. Burlington clients flying for Florida, Europe, the US, or business travel consistently flag the daily updates as the reason they switched from a previous kennel. You see the dog. You see the environment. You see what the day looked like.

Burlington dog boarding FAQ
How long is the drive from Burlington to your facility?
Two options. Paddock Estate (Pickering) is roughly 90 minutes via QEW/401 east — long-distance pickup recommended from central Burlington, off-peak. The Scarborough drop-off is about 75 minutes via QEW/Gardiner. Most Burlington clients pick whichever fits the day's traffic — Scarborough for weekday rush-hour windows, Paddock Estate for weekend or extended-stay drop-offs.
Do you offer pickup or drop-off coordination for Burlington?
Drop-off is owner-driven to either Scarborough or Paddock Estate (Pickering). For Board & Train clients ($150/day), in-home handover sessions are included at no extra charge — the trainer drives to Burlington (Downtown Burlington, Aldershot, Roseland, The Orchard, Tyandaga, Millcroft, Brant Hills) to install the protocol in your home with your family and your real-environment triggers. For straight boarding the owner drives the dog. Long-distance pickup for clients outside the central GTA is quoted case-by-case.
What's your service area within Burlington — which neighborhoods?
All of Burlington. Active boarding clients come from Downtown Burlington, Aldershot, Roseland, The Orchard, Tyandaga, Millcroft, Brant Hills, and surrounding areas. Whichever Burlington neighborhood you're in, drive time to Scarborough or Paddock Estate is covered below.
How does pricing work — same as Toronto/GTA?
Yes. Burlington clients pay the same rates as Toronto, Markham, Scarborough, or anywhere in the GTA. No surcharge for Halton Region. Daycare $75/day · Boarding $90/day · Board & Train $150/day · Reactive $200/day · Special Needs $250/day. No long-weekend surcharge. Full payment upfront via e-transfer to support@dogfather.ca. The $50 phone evaluation is credited toward the first stay.
What if my dog has special needs (senior, reactive, medical)?
Three Burlington-friendly tiers above standard boarding: Reactive Dogs ($200/day) for dog-reactive or human-reactive cases that other kennels refuse, Special Needs ($250/day) for seniors with mobility issues, dogs on daily meds (Prozac, Gabapentin, Trazodone, insulin, thyroid, NSAIDs), or anxious dogs that need a hand-fed schedule, and Board & Train ($150/day) which adds active obedience reinforcement to the boarding stay. Burlington owners arrive here frequently after being turned away from other kennels.
Do you do board+train + summer boarding combined?
Yes. Many Burlington owners combine a 2–4 week Board & Train ($150/day) with a vacation boarding stay — the dog comes back to a structured environment they already know, the trainer already understands the dog's protocol, and behavioural progress isn't lost during the holiday. Common combo: Board & Train in June, summer boarding for the July trip, decompression stay in August. Slots for combined stays book earliest — call 647-551-2633 to discuss timing.
What vaccines do you require?
Current Rabies, DHPP (distemper/hepatitis/parvo/parainfluenza), and Bordetella (kennel cough) — all standard. Upload vaccine records when you book, or email a photo to support@dogfather.ca. Senior dogs with vaccine waivers due to medical conditions can still book the Special Needs tier ($250/day) — discuss at the $50 phone evaluation.
